Kalai began its scholarship fund in 1998, and in that time, we have sponsored over 200 students. Our primary program remains focused on sponsoring tuition, public examination fees, notebooks and pencils for “A-level” students (equivalent to 11th and 12th grade high school students in the U.S.) in the Binga region of Zimbabwe, one of the most underserved and underrepresented areas of the country.
We had previously sponsored students exclusively at Binga High, however, in the spring of 2014, we expanded the program to a second high school called Manjolo Secondary. We began our relationship with Manjolo by taking on six Form 5 students (equivalent to 11th grade) in 2014.
This year, out class of students is as follows:
Form 5 (equivalent to 11th grade)
Form 6 (equivalent to 12th grade)
